One day I heard a lot of strange noises coming from the kitchen. Being a cat, I needed to investigate. I mean, that’s part of being a cat! I HAD to know!
So I strolled into the kitchen. A big brown box sat near my food and water dishes. The humans walked back and forth from the refrigerator to the big brown box, taking food out of the refrigerator and placing in the big brown box. I had to be careful they didn’t step on my nice fluffy tail or my paws. That would hurt—a lot! Meow!
The older human said the big brown box was an ice chest. She said they were taking care of the refrigerator. They were preparing to “defrost the refrigerator”. It was something they needed to do every now and then, she explained.
The humans frequently opened the little door above the main refrigerator. They did the strangest thing—they put pans in the top of the refrigerator, waited awhile, took the pans out, put water in them, and then put them back in. I watched the process awhile, then decided there was so much activity I better go back to the living room.
I was glad to know the humans were “defrosting the refrigerator”—whatever that means—once my food is opened it’s kept in the refrigerator, so it’s nice to know they are taking care of the refrigerator!
